Class Description
Come join Peter Strom, having just returned from his from his 10th trip to India, as he shares practical and powerful insights into the nature of trauma, the subtle body and how breathing consciously can radically transform our experience of life.
Breath is life and the ancient yogis who lived and practiced in the Himalayan Mountains in their brilliance developed a profound technology of breath and movement - Kriya Yoga - that has the potential wake us up from our misery and help us create a life of connection, gratitude, compassion, abundance, creativity, love and even bliss.
What is Kriya?
It is a Sanskrit word that means action, and in the context of the Himalayan Kriya that Peter shares it means an evolutionary action that leads to liberation.
It is a technology of liberation that works by bringing the light of loving awareness to the dark aspects of our being; those hurt, broken, unacknowledged, and unloved aspects of our body, mind and soul, so that we can finally truly heal and experience the wholeness that is our birthright. Kriya clears the noise, cuts through the distractions, and helps to harmonize the nervous system by restoring our natural intelligence, an intelligence based on feeling the sensations in the body from a place of equanimity and loving awareness as the latent faculties of the heart and its ability to love unconditionally come back online.
Kriya Yoga constantly reminds us to come back to the sacredness of our body, to the awe inspiring wisdom it contains and the simple truth that the more you feel, the more you heal.
In this workshop you will learn basic pranayama practices and be expertly guided in powerful Kriya techniques as you explore the power of your breath through movement, visualization, bandas (locks), asana (postures), mudras (psychic gestures) and mantra (sound). You will be given Kriya sets that you can practice at home as part of your Sadhana (daily practice) to help you connect to the healing potential of your own being, in alignment with your heart and the divine wisdom that connects and guides from a place of personal freedom and ultimately rediscover the joy and wonder at the glory creation that so many of us have forgotten in the hustle and bustle of life.
